14 *Interest is billed during the promotional period, but all interest is waived if the purchase balance is paid in full before the expiration of the promotional period. How to introduce financing into every conversation with every customer Our experience – and real-world testing – clearly shows that financing gives homeowners the opportunity to enhance their project to help increase their home's style and value. However, financing can't do that if you don't offer it. And, you have to offer financing on every sale, to every customer, every time. Otherwise, you risk leaving money on the kitchen table. So, how do you go about introducing the concept of financing, particularly to customers who have the cash needed to complete the project? It starts long before you and that customer ever meet. It starts with your own marketing programs. It is critical that you include your best financing offers in your marketing – whether it's on your website, in email blasts, on postcards, billboards...everywhere. It's also important to mention financing when you speak with a potential customer, by phone, email or chat. Say things like, "We have a 12-month no payment/no interest if paid in full* promotion going on right now and a couple of really affordable payment programs, so don't forget to ask about those when we meet." This accomplishes two important goals: It lets potential customers know you can help them to afford the windows & doors they really want. It also introduces the concept of financing, so when you bring it up as part of your sales process, they are not surprised. These days, a consumer will be surprised if you don't offer financing of some kind. We are living in a world of low, low payments, promotional financing offers, credit cards and more. We use plastic to pay for everything, and credit is a part of everyday life. It is unlikely that a customer will be offended if you offer them financing. Particularly if they've seen it in your marketing materials, and you've mentioned it when speaking with them.
